Neonatal hyperbilirubinemia during the newborn period has the most significant indicators in the structure of mortality and morbidity due to the toxic effect of bilirubin on the central nervous system and the newborn's body as a whole. Biochemical examination of blood serum is the most commonly used indicators for neonatal hyperbilirubinemia. A clinical and laboratory study was conducted to assess the metabolic status in prolonged neonatal hyperbilirubinemia.
