This review of the literature highlights the issues of epidemiology, classification, pathophysiology, as well as the diagnosis and treatment of erectile dysfunction in patients with diabetes mellitus. Erectile dysfunction in young patients with diabetes mellitus is a serious problem due to its fairly wide prevalence, as well as the impact on the psychological state of patients and the quality of life in general. In general, a decrease in the amount of testosterone in patients with diabetes mellitus is associated with a decrease in the hormone insulin in the body. This article mentions a significant increase in total testosterone levels in patients with diabetes mellitus at the post-treatment stage of erectile dysfunction.
