In today's developing era, English is the language of communication all over the world, no other language is as global and widely used as English. In many educational institutions, students study English as a compulsory subject in their academic programs, because this subject helps the graduate to improve his further career in certain fields of activity and business. This article reveals the main problems and difficulties in mastering the necessary competences in learning English that most students face. As the main task, ways and methods of improving mastery and solving problems arising in English language learning were considered, and simple and effective methods for their implementation and practical application in the learning process were shown.
