This research was conducted on five healthy francolin birds (Francolinus francolinus) to investigate some morphological features of the nasal passage. Transverse and sagittal sections in a rostro-caudal order of the birds' heads were made. The nasal cavity commences rostrally by two narrow longitudinal openings, the nostrils or nares, present at the point of the comb base on the top beak, lateral to the mandible at its basal third. The nasal cavity has a triangular space within the beak, located between the external orifice and the eye margin. The nasal cavity possessed only rostral and middle conchae in its lateral wall, the rostral one sat opposite to the nostrils. From this study concluded the nasal cavity, in its transverse section, demonstrated the conchae as a C-shaped project from its lateral wall.
